Classes & Workshops

It has always been a dream of ours to one day open our doors to fellow aspiring bakers and decorators, to share what we have learnt and experienced over the past eight years. We have put together a quaint little place that offers intimate classes and workshops, in hopes that what we share will inspire you to discover your potential and find your own unique creative direction. Cake Decorating Classes

Romantic Ruffles Cake

In this class, you will learn how create our signature 1 Tier ruffle cake. We will teach you how to create layers of delicate and thin ruffles for that dreamy cake and tips on how to create different designs with it to suit different occasions. We will be using a dummy fondant cake which will be provided in class.

Duration: 1 Day

Note: Everything will be provided for you in class, including the tools necessary. Lunch and refreshments will be served. We take a maximum of four per class.

Sophisticated 2 Tier Cake

In this class, you will learn the basic fundamentals of covering cake with fondant and stacking the cakes. Using real cake, you will learn how to layer cakes with icing, cover the cake with chocolate ganache and finish off with a smooth fondant cover. You will then learn how to stack the fondant covered cakes. We will also share with you tips on how to handle fondant in humid weather and how to place sugar flower arrangement on the cakes.

Duration: 2 days

Note: You will need to bring your own cakes. Everything else will be provided for you in class, from the rolling pin and the tools needed to ice and stack the cakes. Lunch and refreshments will be served. We take a maximum of two per class.

Sugar Flower Classes

 

My Garden of Roses

In this class, you will learn how to craft 3 types of roses (both wired and non wired), including our signature and ruffle rose. We will also show you how to dust each rose to give it more depth and a realness to it, craft leaves and rose buds so you are able to go back and create a spray/arrangement of roses that will sit beautifully on a classic or traditional wedding cake.

Duration: 2 Days

Note: Everything will be provided for you in class, from the cutters (you will be able to bring home the cutters) to the tools needed to create the flowers, and lunch and refreshments. We take a maximum of four per class.

Princess Peony

In this class, you will learn how to craft our signature statement Peony; closed peony and open peony. Learn how to create delicate peonies, as we show you techniques on how to roll out your gum paste as thinly as possible. And the different types of centres that you can explore to create a different look for your Peony flower, to compliment different cake designs. We will also show you how to dust the petals to give it more depth and a realness to it, and the leaves to decorate it with.

The Orchid Orchard

In this class, you will learn how to craft 3 types of orchids; Phalaenopsis, Catalya and Cymbydium. Spend time with us to see how you too can bring the orchid to life by dusting the petals and learning simple techniques to paint the centre of each orchid. We will also share with you how to create a spray/arrangement of orchids to place on a cake.

Ruffle Peony

In this class, we will explore a different technique to craft the ruffle Peony. It is a statement flower that sits beautifully on its own, on just about any cake. Learn how to roll out each petal as thin as they go so it looks as light as a feather, yet luscious with layers of petals. We will also show you how to dust the petals to give it more depth.

Duration: 2 Days
